What is Sidereus?

Live Action Role-Playing

A Live Action Role Playing Game, or LARP, is essentially a form of improvisational theatre. In a LARP the players take on the roles of the characters they have created, and much like actors in a play they help to tell a story throughout the course of a game event. Game events can last as long as a weekend or be as short as a day. Where a LARP differs from a play is that there is no set script, so each of your lines are completely your own. Also, players remain in costume, acting out their roles for the entire event.

In a LARP, you have complete freedom to create the character you will play. Like theater, you have an environment to work within, created by the other players, the props you have at your disposal, and whatever scenery and setting the group running the LARP may have chosen. Despite all this, it is up to you to advance your character and give them a life of their own as you move along through the general storyline. Everything about your character, from their behaviors to their hopes, wishes and fears are all yours to conceive and define.

Your character can aspire to be anything you imagine, from a gallant knight to a wealthy merchant. You can seek adventure and fortune, or enjoy wiling away the hours as a bard in the local tavern. Whether epic or mundane, your character’s life path is entirely your own to choose, and how your character progresses is completely up to you.

What is Sidereus?

Sidereus is the name of the world in which this Live Action Role-Playing game takes place, a world of fantasy in which the forces of evil have all but conquered the planet. As a person trying to survive in such perilous times, it is your task to choose which side you will be on. The dark fantasy of Sidereus is a combination of high fantasy and survival horror, pitting the players and their allies against dark forces and terrifying monsters.

In the world of Sidereus, you can play a mighty warrior, a cunning assassin, a loyal paladin, or a master of the arcane arts. The Sidereus game system allows you complete freedom in creating your character, so that the only limit on the type of character you can play is your own imagination.
