Hi all,
My name is Eddie. I am new to LARPing as well. I have been an avid D&D player for about 5 years now, and one of my fellow D&D players was a larper and convinced me to go to the Valentines event. (I was the newbie pretending to be a armor/weapon-smith) I loved it, so now you have a new player on your hands. I can't wait till the opening event. I am hoping to bring in a master armor/weapon-smith who wants to learn how to enhance his craft with magical properties.
A little about me:
I am a father of a 20 month old baby girl. I have a cute Shetland sheep dog named chaos, who is very chaotic. (Next one will be named calm) I graduated from University of Alabama with a dual BS in EE and CE (Electrical, and computer engineering). Then went to RIT to do my Masters. Now I am working as a validation engineer at Intel. (I love a job that pays me to be paranoid and to break stuff)

(Very) Belated congratulations on the baby girl, Eddie! My son is almost 2½ years old now, and my wife and I are looking forward to bringing him to an event some day.

Hello, I'm Sarah, and i've been lurking and reading whatever there is to read about Sidereus, both world and game. It appears that I am not a ninja however, so I'm introducing myself.
Bit about me: I have never particularly been a gamer, although i have always been on the fringes of such activities in an interested fashion. I get drawn in by the mythos, lore, and stories, which means i've read a lot of high fantasy books. So yes, complete newbie, will ask weird questions. In more general life I am a college student who's lost count, an artist, bookworm, birdwatcher, and aspiring herbalist. I also like shiny things a great deal. This concludes my 1am summary!
I hear there is a new players gathering soon, i look forward to meeting you all. =)

Hi Sarah, and welcome to the boards!
I was a newbie to all this stuff too before the past year. My first Sidereus event was my first LARPing experience ever, and I was honestly surprised by how much fun it was. I think you'll find that there is a pretty good mix of new and experienced gamers in our player base, so you don't need to worry about weird or stupid questions. In case you are coming to the opener on April 30th and need help creating a character, I have had tons of free time on my hands, and have literally created dozens of characters for the hell of it, so if you need help, just yell. Hope to see you at the Opener!
